I am an amateur artist and I have lived and worked in Hampshire all my life.
For 26 years I was employed by Eastleigh College teaching floral design.
The knowledge and understanding of design gained through this, proved invaluable when I rekindled my childhood love of painting nearly 18 years ago.
I work mainly in watercolour although sometimes experiment with other water media. Colour and texture are definitely the main elements of design that influence my paintings. I find inspiration from a wide variety of subjects. Flowers, of course, but I also like to portray aspects of local landscapes and buildings. However, probably my favourite subject matter is the result of happy holidays on the continent over many, many years.
I have recently started exploring acrylics and am inspired by the freedom this medium offers.
I do hope you enjoy your visit to my website.
